Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17/08/2026

This notice explains what Sabotage does with your personal information, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who we are

Sabotage Studios LTD is the data controller for the information described here.

Sabotage Studios LTD

45 - 46 Charlotte Road, EC2A 3PD, London

Company number: 16752382

For anything in this notice, write to contact@sabotagestudios.co.uk

What we collect, and why

We collect very little, and only in three situations.

  • If you buy something. Your name, delivery address, billing address and email address, so we can take the order, send it to you and keep a record of the sale. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract, and for the record of the sale, a legal obligation.
  • If you sign up to the newsletter. Your email address and the date you signed up, so we can send you occasional news about the studio. Our lawful basis is your consent.
  • Whenever anyone visits. Our hosting and image providers receive your IP address and basic details about your browser as part of serving the page. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a website that works and is secure.

We do not build a profile of you, we do not buy information about you from anybody, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

Card details

We never see or hold your card details. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe on their own pages, and they pass us only the result of the payment and the address you gave them.

Who else handles it

To run the site at all we use a small number of companies, and each of them handles some of this on our behalf:

  • Stripe, for taking payments and sending your receipt.
  • Sanity, where the newsletter list and the contents of the site are stored, and whose image service delivers the photographs on these pages.
  • Vercel, which hosts the site and serves it to you.
  • Are.na, whose service supplies some of the images on the smoking area page. Those images are loaded by your browser directly from Are.na, so they receive your IP address when that page is open.

Each of them is bound to use your information only as instructed by us, except where they act as controller in their own right, in which case their own privacy notice applies.

Where it goes

Some of these companies are based outside the UK, mainly in the United States or the European Economic Area. Where information is transferred outside the UK it is protected by the safeguards that UK data protection law requires, such as the UK addendum to the standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Order records: six years from the end of the financial year they fall in, because tax law requires it.
  • Newsletter addresses: until you ask to come off the list, or until the list is closed.
  • Your answer to the cookie notice: this is kept in your own browser, not by us, and it stays there until you clear your browsing data.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong
  • ask us to delete it
  • ask us to restrict what we do with it, or object to what we are doing
  • ask us to hand it over in a portable form
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where consent is what we relied on

Ask for any of these at contact@sabotagestudios.co.uk and we will answer within one month. None of it costs anything.

Coming off the newsletter

Email contact@sabotagestudios.co.uk and say so, and we will take your address off the list. We will not ask you why.

Cookies

The site sets no tracking cookies at present. What the cookie notice records is your answer to it, and that is stored in your own browser rather than sent to us. See our Cookie Policy for the detail.

Children

The site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 13.

Complaints

If you think we have got this wrong, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113. You do not have to speak to us before you go to them.

Changes

If this notice changes we will change the date at the top of it. If the change is a significant one, we will ask you again through the cookie notice.
